Impact of Entrepreneurial Leadership on Business Success of SMES

Abstract

Entrepreneurship plays a significant role towards innovations, competitiveness, economic growth, and poverty alleviation as well. Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) contribute largely economic growth of the country by generating productive job opportunities and diversified income revenue. The main aim of the study is to review the literature on entrepreneurial leadership and its outcomes. It is intended to carry out the research among small and medium enterprises, especially owner- managers. At first, the researcher tries to find out the aspects of entrepreneurial leadership and establish the relationship between various characteristics and its outcomes by reviewing related literature. Thus, the research utilized only secondary data sources to achieve the research objectives. According to the findings of the study, the characteristics of entrepreneurial leadership particularly "Guidance, Cognition, Motivation, Communication, Risk Taking and Proactiveness" have significant impact on success of the SMEs.
